Press Release: 2027 Jefferson County Fair Premium Book Now Public

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 2, 2026

JEFFERSON, Wis. -- The Jefferson County Fair has announced the release of the 2027 Premium Book, packed

with new opportunities and updates for exhibitors of all ages. For 2027, the Fair will continue to provide both the full Premium Book and the Quick Reference Guide, which will be available at local libraries and community hubs beginning this winter.

Exhibitors can choose from two departments: Junior (ages 8–19, participating in a youth organization) and Open (ages 5 and up). Participants may enter animal projects, which include livestock and other live animals, or static projects, such as arts, photos, and educational displays. All entries are submitted through FairEntry, the Fair’s online registration system.

New classes have been added across multiple departments, including a Bred & Owned class for Sheep, a “Crazy Quick Bread” class for Junior Foods, a Bag class for Junior Clothing, and five new opportunities in Junior Home Environment. Open exhibitors will also find new offerings, including Succulent, Mandevilla, and Daisy classes in Open Flowers; a “Foods for Gifts” class in Open Foods; and a new size option for quilts and
blankets in Open Home Furnishings.

After reviewing recommendations from the Fair Board and comparing the Fair’s policies with current industry standards, several policies have been updated or newly added to ensure a healthy, ethical, and competitive showing environment. Updated policies include the Policy for Exhibitors with a Show Conflict and the policy outlining youth organizations that qualify for participation. Newly added policies cover Exhibitor Conduct at Shows, the Formal Protest Process, and Auction Exhibitors in Their Last Year. More information on all policies can be found on pages 62–63 of the Premium Book.

Fair staff encourages the public to review the first two pages of the Premium Book for upcoming schedules, as many show dates and times have changed, including those for Rabbits, Dairy Cattle, Cavies, Music & Drama exhibiting, and most Open Static Departments. Each department includes detailed information on weigh-ins, DNA submission deadlines, project drop-off, entry card pickup, and more.

Exhibitor registration through FairEntry will open later this month and remain available through June 1, 2027. The full Premium Book, Quick Reference Guides, FairEntry links, and exhibitor resources are available at JCoFair.com.

“We’re excited to offer these updates to the Premium Book, which will give all exhibitors a more well-rounded fair showing experience,” said Sammy Garvey, Fair Coordinator. “These changes reflect feedback from Superintendents, the Fair Board, and exhibitors. We can’t wait to see how exhibitors take advantage of these new opportunities at the Fair.”
